Hey there! This might be a little nitpicky and dumb, but I was just wondering why you guys decided to translate ソル to "salt"? I'm still trying to learn Japanese myself, but wouldn't salt be ソルト? Or am I missing something? Sorry;; I'm just a little confused since I'm still learning (like, I just started a few weeks ago learning) and this has been confusing me for a while.
Nope, you’re right! It’s true that in Japanese, Salt’s name is only ソル (so-ru) without any sort of t sound, but we wanted to make the theme naming with Sal(t) Lake more obvious to people.
To expand a bit, just like Alba and Ross’s names make “Albatross” (アルバトロス), the ト means ‘and’, which is where the wordplay comes from; it’s literally “Alba and Ross”. So in Japanese, Salt Lake (ソルトレイク) is literally “Salt and Lake”. To make a long story short, that’s why we chose to use Salt for Salt’s name!
